Šibenik

Dalmatian town of Sibenik, which lies just 15 km from Tribunj, will enchant visitors with the beautiful atmosphere of narrow streets and stairways or with the Cathedral of St. James  (Sv. Jakov), who is registered on UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is a unique building, which was build by three architects over one hundred years in the 15th and 16 century. The cathedral is built only from stone, from marble and limestone, without any fasteners.

Above the town of Sibenik ther are three of the four urban strongholds from 11 century, which belongs to the defense sistem of fortifications, towers and fortresses that protected the city and surroundings from the Turks - St. Michael strength from 15 centure , the fortress of St. John (St. Ivan) fro m17 century,  fortress Šubićevac  from 17 century. From all the strength is a beautiful view to the city. The fourth strength, strength St. Nicholas (St. Nikola), is located on an island in the strait directly at the entrance to Sibenik.

Sibenik lies on the river Krka, which creates  beautiful waterfalls, from which is the most famous waterfall Skradinski buk. Part of the river Krka is National Park Krka, which visit many tourists every year.
