City of Šibenik

Dalmatian city of Šibenik located near the National Park Krka is interessting with an atmosphere of narrow streets and with the architectural monument of the Cathedral of St. James (Sv. Jakov), which is registered on UNESCO World Heritage List. The cathedral is exceptional, becouse by its construction was used only stone without any fasteners, and the roof is only made ​​of stone slabs. The cathedral was built over 100 years in the 15th and 16th century and they participated three builders. Sibenik offers many interesting churches, as well as four defensive fortress, three of them lies above the town and one at the mouth of the Krka river into the sea.
